Our Mission

We care, we learn, we lead, we R.O.A.R.

Our Vision

We are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment where each student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Founded in 1972, Namaqua is a significant fixture in our local community. Teacher expertise, parent involvement and community partnerships are key to our success. Serving approximately 250 students in grades K through 5, we work diligently to provide a school environment that is a safe and effective place for all. Our students approach the challenges and risks of learning with vigor and enthusiasm.

At Namaqua we pride ourselves on providing each child with profound learning opportunities every day! In our classrooms, you will find the highest level of student engagement as students work collaboratively to produce products, performances, presentations, and exhibits that demonstrate their learning. Our students are challenged to think critically, creatively, and with purpose as they engage in a rigorous, standards-based curriculum.

We have a distinguished art, music, technology, and physical education program and we are dedicated to educating the whole child. We encourage every child to be a respectful and responsible citizen in the classroom, throughout school, at home, and in our local community.

Namaqua is located at the eastern portal of Big Thompson Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park. Mixtures of rural, metropolitan, and agricultural influences add richness to the cultural, academic, and economic diversity of our school. We are proud of our outdoor classroom. A mini amphitheater setting highlights native plants and is the result of a community vision and hours of volunteer work.

Our proximity to the Big Thompson river and local wetlands also contribute to outdoor and environmental learning opportunities for our students. As a school community, you will find a dedicated and compassionate staff, highly involved parents, strong community partnerships, and a safe yet rigorous learning environment. Namaqua truly is a great place to learn!
